How can I be sure that I received the correct remains?
Regular Business Hours
Monday – Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm CST
Can I ship remains?
Yes, it is possible to ship cremated remains, but please note that only the United States Postal Service (USPS) allows such shipments. Other shipping carriers like UPS, Federal Express (FedEx), and DHL do not knowingly transport cremated remains due to their irreplaceable nature and the inability to insure them adequately. However, UPS, FedEx, and DHL do accept empty cremation urns for shipping, but they cannot transport urns containing ashes.
Can I fly with a memorial urn and cremated remains?
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), it is essential to be aware of the regulations surrounding the transportation of cremated remains. While some airlines may not permit cremated remains as checked baggage, it is advisable to check with your specific airline for any restrictions. It's important to note that TSA officers will not open crematory containers during the screening process. To facilitate the screening procedure, it is suggested to use a temporary or permanent crematory container made of lighter materials such as wood or plastic. Containers made of opaque materials that hinder clear visibility of the contents will not be permitted. Keep in mind that even if an item is generally allowed, it may still undergo additional screening or be prohibited if it raises security concerns. The final decision on whether an item can be brought onto the plane rests with TSA. However, empty cremation urns can be transported if the lid can be removed for inspection. At Funeral.com, we recommend using scattering or temporary urns while traveling by air.
What is a biodegradable urn?
Biodegradable urns are crafted from natural, non-toxic materials that undergo natural decomposition. These eco-friendly urns are designed for both earth and water burials, offering a sustainable choice. Specifically for sea burials, certain urns are engineered to dissolve within minutes, while others break down completely within a week.
