How to Keep Memories of Loved Ones Alive

How to Keep Memories of Loved Ones Alive

Memories are the only thing we have when our loved ones pass away. This is why we want to keep their memories alive, literally and figuratively. Keeping memories alive requires a blend of traditions and technology, and here’s how.

Keep the Traditions

We already have a Christmas tree on the first day of September. This is a tradition that my dad left us and we still do up until now. It became a reminder of his presence in the family and it kept, and is still keeping us reminded of how he loved decorating the Christmas tree.

Make Videos and Capture Photos

It can be awkward at first, but capturing conversations during dinner or special occasions is one of the best way to keep your loved one’s memories. Videos of random conversations or the stories they have that you love and want to share to others can lessen the burden of their passing.

Celebrate Their Birthday

Celebrating their birthday every year can also be your way of reminding yourself of how you celebrated their birthdays when they were still alive. It keeps your fond memories of them alive while you share their special day with the people around you.

Make a Photo Album / Scrapbooking

It doesn’t really need to be a scrapbook. Random photos and of significant occasions can also make their memories linger and stay with you. As you look at the pages and see their faces and your face too, you will surely remember all the times they were still with you.

Create a Tradition for Them

Aside from keeping their traditions, you can also create a special day or tradition that celebrates the life of your loved one. A simple cake every first day of the month or a candle lit for them at night can keep all the memories alive with you.

Regardless of what you do, the most important thing here is to celebrate your loved ones lives in the best way you think you should.
