Bernardo.She was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose and Tina (Galvao) Pereira.Mrs. Bernardo was an assembler for the Victoria Jewlery Company before retiring. She enjoyed being with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.She leaves three daughters, Maria C. Ledo of Sao Miguel, Maria C. Gouveia of East Providence and Zita M. McAuley of Cranston; one brother, one sister, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. - Lillian A. Blomstrom, 92, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010, in Millbury Healthcare Center. She leaves several nephews and nieces, including Cynthia Blomstrom of Worcester; Eric and his wife Gail Hauge of Ohio; Margaret A. Carlson, wife of the late Arthur W. Carlson of Shrewsbury; Steven A. Carlson; Captain Jeffrey F. Carlson and his wife Jacqueline; Deborah D. Sarro; and David C. Carlson. Lillian was predeceased by two sisters, Diane Carlson and Vanja Hauge. Lillian was born in Worcester, daughter of Gustaf and Bernadine (Johnson) Blomstrom. She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School in 1939. She worked as a dental assistant in the office of Dr. William Maykel for many years, retiring in 1980. She served as guardian for Marie and the late Dorothy Toscano, daughters of her very close friend, the late Joseph Toscano. Lillian was a member of Greendale People's Church, The Vasa Order Quinsigamond Lodge, and a lifetime member of the Massachusetts Dental Assistants Association. Lillian spent the last few years of her life living at the Emeritus Woods at Eddy Pond, and the family would like to thank everyone there for the special care given to her during that time.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. - Ruth E. Gaw, 101, a lifelong resident of Clinton, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at Sterling Village after a bout with old age.She is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews including, Eddy Gaw, Gerald Gaw and his wife Carol, Marlene Ernst and her husband Bud, all of Clinton; Karen McAuliffe of FL; Diane D'Olimpio of Lancaster; Barbara Basilli of NJ; Barbara Wickstrom and her husband Bob of South Berwick, ME; Gloria Lapierre, Shirley Lanza, Renee Holman and her husband Vern, Richard Lanza, all of Leominster. She is predeceased by her siblings Henry J. Gaw, Mildred Freitag, Irene Lanza and George F. Bradley, Sr. Ruth was born in Clinton to the late Thomas and Mary (Bradley) Gaw. She was educated in Clinton Public Schools and began a career in manufacturing with an assembly team of the former Blake Manufacturing Corporation. Ruth ultimately retired after more than forty years from the Ray-O-Vac Company and held part-time employment with the former Antique Restaurant in Clinton and Sterling Inn. She enjoyed traveling with friends and relatives to far away scenic places, twice visiting County Mayo, Ireland, enjoying two memorable visits with families left behind. Ruth will be remembered for having been raised with the necessity of the time to care for her family's children. She was endowed with an exemplary drive and desire to engage this responsibility for more than 40 children over nearly 70 years, with great love, enthusiasm, humor and dedication. Ruth earnestly gave of herself a boundless energy to her family who will forever hold her in great admiration and respect.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. - Sandra J. (Eddy) "Snook" Gigliotti, 63, of Auburn, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2010 surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Joseph Gigliotti who died in 2008. Sandra leaves two sons: Anthony J. Gigliotti and his wife, Jennifer of Paxton and Jeffrey M. Gigliotti and his wife, Lisa of Rutland; two sisters: Marjorie Recko of Spencer and Carol Annunziata of Worcester; also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Sandra was born in Worcester and raised in Auburn, daughter of the late Emmett and Dorothy (Taitt) Eddy. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1965. Following graduation, Sandra worked in the accounting department of the Marcus Company in Worcester. She later worked for the Auburn School Department as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement."Snook", as she was known by her family and friends, took great pride in her family, and especially enjoyed the wonderful memories she shared with her five grandchildren. "Snook" also enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her beloved friends. - Ruth E. (Pierce) Eastman, 89, of Northside Rd., passed away Monday, September 6, 2010. Her husband of 50 years, Harold R. Eastman died in 1990.She leaves behind three children, Waldo H. Eastman and his wife Priscilla of Bremen, Maine, Mary Ellen wife of Roger Davis of Port Charlotte, FL and Donald E. Eastman of Athens, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Wally Eastman, Jr., Sharon Wilbur and Karen Remian, all of Charlton, Paula Stoever of Southbridge, Christopher Davis of Charlton, Lori Stone of Port Charlotte, FL, and Russell Eastman of Charlton. 14 Great grandchildren, 7 great- great-grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Brayton of Foster, RI.Mrs. Eastman was preceded in death by one sister, Ina P. Wright who died in 2002.She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, a daughter of Claude E. and Ina L. (Sweet) Pierce and has lived in Charlton since the age of 19. Mrs. Eastman was a member of the Charlton Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and baking, especially for her family and friends.She adored her family. Mrs. Eastman and her entire family celebrated with her on August 22 for her 90th Birthday Party.There are no calling hours. (Hanney) Goldick, 71, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Silver Stream Health Center in Wilmington, NC after a lengthy illness.She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty-eight years, John C. Goldick; a daughter, Maryellen Kenton, with whom she lived, of Wilmington, NC; three sons, Robert G. Tiedemann of Milford, NH; Michael S. Tiedemann and his wife Melody of Hudson, NH; Karl A. Tiedemann, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Nashua, NH. She leaves three sisters, Carol Nelson and her husband Warren of Billerica; Sharon Fulkerson of Chantilly, VA; Marilyn Dumas and her husband David of Clinton; three brothers, David Hanney and his wife Ann of Mt. Vernon, NY; Peter Hanney, John Hanney and his wife Karen, all of Clinton. She is survived by her grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison and Jimmy Kenton, Tabitha and Ashleigh Tiedemann, Kenneth, Amber and Alexander Lewis, two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Lewis and Ethan Watts; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her sister Eleanor Joseph. Eileen was born in Clinton to the late Maurice and Ruth (Grady) Hanney. She attended local schools and obtained a degree from studies at Hesser College. Eileen was employed as a Nursing Aid and legal secretary prior to becoming a full-time homemaker. She raised her family in Nashua, New Hampshire and later lived in Whitefield, prior to retiring in Wilmington, North Carolina.She was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton and held current membership with St. Mary's Church in Wilmington, NC. - Carolyn H. Foy, 83, previously of Dennisport and Vero Beach, Florida died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation & Living Center. Her husband of 59 years, John J. Foy, died in 2006. Carolyn was born in Plainfield, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Thomas and Josephine (Snyder) Heron. After graduation from high school, she attended secretarial school, and was later employed for many years at the former Worcester County Institution for Savings.Carolyn is survived by two sons: John R. Foy and his wife Therese of Dennis, and Richard T. Foy of Carver; two grandsons: John W. Foy, currently serving on active duty in the United States Air Force, and Patrick V. Foy of Dennis, soon to be serving in the United States Air Force as well; three nephews: Robert Foy of Dudley, Glenn Foy of Holden, and William Foy of Bridgewater, New Jersey.Carolyn shared her great life-long love of horses with her husband, with their enthusiasm especially for open jumpers and hunters; additionally, Carolyn had a love for Morgan show horses. During her retirement years in Florida, she actively participated in various community activities, including tennis, golf, and bowling; she also found much pleasure and enjoyment later in life in music and dancing, as well as helping out in her Church thrift store.Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th, at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis.
