- MERIDEN - Barbara Ann Lamb, 69, of Meriden, wife of the late Dennis T. Lamb, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital after a long illness.Born in Meriden on Feb. 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Budzinak) Gawel, Sr. She retired as a teacher from the Apple Tree Day Care Center. She was a veteran of Vietnam Conflict having served with the U.S. Marine Corp.Mrs. Lamb was a devoted grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by a daughter, Denise and Steven Carusone, of Meriden; three sons, Michael and Jamie Lamb, of Berlin, Thomas J Lamb, of Meriden and Scott D. and Suzanne Lamb, of Hamden; she is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Dennis Lamb, McKenzie Lamb, Zachary Thomas Lamb, Noah James Lamb and Kyle Steven Lamb; and a godson, Richard Gurczynski.Funeral service and burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the John J. - MERIDEN - Bruce L. Allen, 62, peacefully entered into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, after a lengthy illness.He was born Jan. 14, 1948 in Meriden, a son of the late William I. and Kathryn (Harris) Allen, Sr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bruce worked for Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Special Metals in Wallingford for 36 years, retiring in 2008. He was an avid New York Yankees fan all his life. He was also very fond of the UConn women's basketball team. He loved a good game of cribbage; he also bowled and played softball in Meriden and Wallingford for many years.He is survived by his loving family: a sister-in-law, Barbara Allen, of Meriden; a nephew, Scott Allen, of Waterbury; two nieces and their husbands, Dianna and Louis Villa, of Durham, and Cindy and Joe Dyrek, of Meriden; five great-nieces and nephews, Patrick, Kevin and Kaitlyn Dyrek, Joshua Villa and Matthew Allen; as well as many dear and close friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia M. Allen; and a brother, William I. Allen, Jr. Bruce touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, West Main Street, Meriden. Burial with full military honors will follow in Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. - Gary Anthony Caron, 67, passed away on Aug. 31, 2010 at the CT Veteran's Hospital in Rocky Hill.Mr. Caron was born on Nov. 10, 1942 in Plattsburg, NY, son of Beryl Caron and the late Anthony Caron. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Oriskney.He is survived by his wife, Delores (Dee) Caron, of Middlefield and four sisters: Patricia Caron of Plattsburg, NY; Theresa Lesney of New Britain, Carol Sorel and Husband Robert of Plattsburg; and Kathy Clark and husband Ted of Portland; as well as several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son JR Caron.Family and friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel at the CT Veteran's Hospital. - Marie (Doherty) Angst, 73, of Durham, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010, with her loving family by her side. She was the cherished wife of George T. Angst and they shared 53 years of marriage. Born on August 12, 1927 in New York, Marie was the daughter of Dorothy (Briel) Doherty and the late Francis Doherty.Besides her husband, Marie is survived by her adoring daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Randall Eick of Middletown; two sisters, Dorothy Moss and her husband Harry of Long Island, and Jean Merrick of New Jersey. She also leaves nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Richard Merrick, and a sister-in-law, Catherine (Angst) Pryor. Marie leaves three very special cousins, Frank and Mary Doherty and Christine Sullivan. Marie was a member of the nursing profession and prior to her retirement was employed by Middlesex Convalescent Center. The family expresses great appreciation to her friend Dr. Peter Pace for his compassionate care over the years and for sharing many comical anecdotes with her. The family would also like to thank the first, second and third shifts of the Palliative Care department for their extraordinary care, and also the nurses that attended her at her home. Much appreciation is also expressed to Dr. Tracey Marquis and to her nurse, Barbara.Anyone fortunate enough to have known Marie was truly touched by a angel.A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman Church, 145 Hubbard St., Middlefield on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at noon. Belisle, 53, of Plainville, died peacefully surrounded by family Aug. 23, 2010, at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.She was born on Jan. 16, 1957, in Bristol, to Mary (Lesiw) Czapor and the late Michael Czapor. She was a longtime Plainville resident and a member of New Life Fellowship Church, Plainville, where she was a member of the choir. In addition, she was also a member of the Women's Group at the church, which was involved in various fundraising efforts for the church and community outreach programs, including supporting a child through World Vision based in Tacoma, Wash. She was also a member of Women of Faith and attended their conferences every year.She is survived by her two loving children, Jessica and Alexander Belisle, both of Plainville; her mother, Mary Czapor, of Plainville; her two sisters, Helen Zeleniuk and her husband, Peter Zeleniuk, and Stella Laurie and her husband, David Laurie, all of Plainville; a brother, Peter Czapor and his wife, Trudy Czapor, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two nieces, Sandra Lennon, of Plainville, and Bridget Lee, of San Bernadino, Calif.; a nephew, Daniel Laurie, of Davenport, Iowa; and a grandnephew, Ethan Lee, of San Bernadino, Calif.A celebration of her life was held Aug. 30, 2010, at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville. - MERIDEN - Albert J. Bernardini, Sr., died on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. He left us in his sleep at age 96. He was the husband of Mary (Grzybek) who passed on 22 years previously.He is survived by two sons, Allen, of Morris, and Gary, of Gilbertsville, KY. His third son, Albert Jr., of Meriden predeceased him by nearly two years. He has eight grandchildren, Scott, Chris, Holly, Tim, Brett, Kevin, Shawn and Gary, Jr.; plus 10 great-grandchildren; and a score of nieces and nephews.Albert was the Son of Angelo and Maria (DelTreggia) of Arezzo, Italy. He served two terms with the National Guard and was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked for Gould Electronics at the time of his retirement and prior for New Departure and Pratt & Whitney. He was an avid gardener and loved ?visiting? his flowers and shrubs. He fed a menagerie of animals in his back yard including feral cats and a rooster, which has been crowing his departure.He lived most of his life on the west side of Meriden and in his later years was relatively house bound where he welcomed a large group of very close friends, his ?angels, who held parties and festivals at his home which always peaked his spirits. The state of Connecticut will lose revenue going forward as Albert was a prolific player of scratch off lottery tickets. He was also a master Cribbage player where he defeated all challengers by disarming them with his witty banter. He favored bowling with his long term and precious friend Doris until a fall disrupted his play some years ago.Our dad, grandfather and friend never had a mean word for anyone. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he touched. We will all miss him every day.His funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 9:15 a.m. from the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. - Robert Anthony Antonetti, 68, of Standish Avenue, North Haven, died Aug. 29, 2010, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Millie Clini Antonetti.Born in New Haven, Dec. 29, 1941; he was a son of the late Emilio and Mary Morrone Antonetti. Robert was a teacher for the State of Connecticut for 15 years. He was a member of the City Point Yacht Club and had served in the Connecticut National Guard during the Vietnam War.He is survived by his sons, Michael (Renee) Antonetti, of Cheshire, Darcy (Al) Salemme, Brian Antonetti, all of North Haven, and Robert (Mary) Antonetti, Jr., of Wallingford; grandchildren, Madelyn Salemme, Nicholas and Gianna Antonetti, Joseph and Meghan Antonetti; a brother, William (Ava) Antonetti, of Manchester. - Aimee (Brousseau) Binette, 83, of Plainville, died peacefully surrounded by her family Aug., 21, 2010. She was the loving wife of Joseph Binette and together they shared 58 years of marriage.She was born May 28, 1927, in St. Camille, Canada, the daughter of the late Leon and Lydia (Couture) Brousseau. She was born and raised in Canada coming here to U.S. in her late teens. She met and married the love of her life, Joseph, and together they started a family. She was a hardworking and dedicated employee for General Electric for 25 years until her retirement in 1988. She was an active member of the Guild of Our Lady and the choir at Our Lady of Mercy Church. She also enjoyed taking trips as a member of AARP retirement club and the Plainville Senior Center. Most important to her was her family. She was happiest surrounded by her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She loved to entertain and spend time with friends while playing cards or just talking. If they couldn't come over, she'd be the first person to stop over and say hi. She will be remembered for her care and compassion for every life that she touched and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Aline L. Giroux and her husband, Maurice, of Littleton, Colo., Marc R. - Gloria (Michaels) Arcand, 85, of Creamery Rd., Durham, devoted wife for 65 years, of Jean R. Arcand, passed away Saturday July 24, 2010 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit of Middlesex Hospital.Gloria was born on August 3, 1924 in New Britain, to the late Nicodemus "Mike" and Elizabeth (Tomalonas) Michaels. She graduated from New Britain High School and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford. She kept the nursing license current until her passing. Gloria was a founding member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Durham where she taught religious education classes. She was also a Den Mother for Troop 27 in Durham.She was the devoted mother of Roger A. Arcand of Middletown and Gloria (Arcand) Snell of Chesterfield, MO, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine (Michaels) Pankonin of Farmington; four grandchildren, Deirdre Arcand and Adam, Amy and Jeanne Marie Snell; and three great grandchildren, Alex, Jackson and Amanda Grace Snell. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Helen O'Brien, Mary Sweeney, Ann Luke, John Michaels, Michael Michaels, and Eleanor Bergeron.A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Main St., Durham. - Aimee (Brousseau) Binette, 83, of Plainville, died peacefully surrounded by her family Aug., 21, 2010. She was the loving wife of Joseph Binette and together they shared 58 years of marriage.She was born May 28, 1927, in St. Camille, Canada, the daughter of the late Leon and Lydia (Couture) Brousseau. She was born and raised in Canada coming here to U.S. in her late teens. She met and married the love of her life, Joseph, and together they started a family. She was a hardworking and dedicated employee for General Electric for 25 years until her retirement in 1988. She was an active member of the Guild of Our Lady and the choir at Our Lady of Mercy Church. She also enjoyed taking trips as a member of AARP retirement club and the Plainville Senior Center. Most important to her was her family. She was happiest surrounded by her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She loved to entertain and spend time with friends while playing cards or just talking. If they couldn't come over, she'd be the first person to stop over and say hi. She will be remembered for her care and compassion for every life that she touched and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Aline L. Giroux and her husband, Maurice, of Littleton, Colo., Marc R. Binette and his wife, Maria, of Glastonbury, and Joyce Marie Wheaton and her husband, David, of Plainville; her grandchildren, Alec and Colin Binette, Dillon and Jacob Wheaton and Jennifer O'Brien and her husband, Sean; her great-grandchildren, McKenna and Delaney O'Brien; her siblings, Paul Brousseau, of Florida, Robert Brousseau, of Plainville, Germain Brousseau, of Plainville, Camile Brousseau, of New Britain, Clement Brousseau, of Plainville, Ghislaine Donna, of Plantsville; along with several nieces and nephews. Robert was a teacher for the State of Connecticut for 15 years. Arcand, passed away Saturday July 24, 2010 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit of Middlesex Hospital.Gloria was born on August 3, 1924 in New Britain, to the late Nicodemus "Mike" and Elizabeth (Tomalonas) Michaels. She graduated from New Britain High School and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford. She kept the nursing license current until her passing. Gloria was a founding member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Durham where she taught religious education classes. She was also a Den Mother for Troop 27 in Durham.She was the devoted mother of Roger A. Arcand of Middletown and Gloria (Arcand) Snell of Chesterfield, MO, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine (Michaels) Pankonin of Farmington; four grandchildren, Deirdre Arcand and Adam, Amy and Jeanne Marie Snell; and three great grandchildren, Alex, Jackson and Amanda Grace Snell. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Helen O'Brien, Mary Sweeney, Ann Luke, John Michaels, Michael Michaels, and Eleanor Bergeron.A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Main St., Durham.
